2021 Year In Review
Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a good start to the new year. It’s been an exciting (& very busy) holiday season so it’s finally time for our year end recap. Lots to discuss so let’s get to it!
Above is taste of our 2021 but it all started off with a bang as Tim Gavrich of Golf Pass name dropped us in an article about direct-to-consumer golf bag companies. It was a pleasant surprise to see our footprint grow and reach new golfers all over the place! Naturally, our traffic spiked and inventory cleared out pretty quickly. Luckily, we had a few things in the hopper at that point and were able to back-fill our inventory soon thereafter for the most part.
Later that Spring we had our second official photoshoot out at Blue Hills Country Club. One that was long overdue to feature our Special Edition Original Golf Bag curated in tandem with BHCC. Pictures turned out phenomenal as always thanks to our guy Haik. We toyed with some video (sharing soon!) and are mapping out our next project for the fall of 2022. It’s going to be awesome no doubt!
During that shoot, we were able to snap a few photos to launch our newest golf bag edition, the Featherweight! It’s turned out to be a hit (and my personal use go-to) as it’s a perfect blend of style, weight, and balance. In the above gallery, you can see our first foray into custom design orders direct-to-consumer. One-off orders definitely add a layer of complexity but is something we intend to pursue and offer on a wider scale in 2022 so be on the lookout!
Aside from those highlights, the biggest takeaways from 2021 is our growth in partnerships both locally and further out. Our friends at Blue Hills expanded their pro shop offerings (hello Featherweight!) while a few other golf clubs joined the fray. Welcome Swope and Milburn! Our new partnerships didn’t stop there though. We also teamed up to with William Jewell’s Men’s and Women’s golf teams to make some custom Yardage Book Covers — Griffo + Co. to make some custom Bag Tag Wallets — and James Oh Golf by way of Griffo for some Work Journals. As I said, it’s been a busy year!
Perhaps the most exciting part of our year-end though is seeing where we can give back. This year, we decided to donate a portion of our revenue to the Chris Harris and his sports complex Harris Park! We’ve come to know him well this past summer as our kids love the golf course and adjacent playgrounds. If you haven’t heard about it, I’d encourage you to check it out. It’s definitely one of the most unique golf spots in the city and hopefully gets replicated many times over worldwide.
2022 is shaping up to be another interesting year! I’ve roped in a good friend to help with some production aspects (pictured above) and am excited to start prototyping again this Spring. I’ve got a couple more golf bag edition ideas bouncing around alongside the custom order potential. Some more hand-held variations are on the way as well as some new products altogether. In the year ahead, we’re also hoping to design and build our first full-scale marketplace-styled pro shop display! More to come on that in the coming months as we work out the kinks but it’s sure to be a fun addition.
As always, thanks again for reading. Stay safe and talk to you again soon!
